Ready to make your WordPress website all beautiful!? If you have read (or done the necessary steps) all the posts in this series leading up to this one, then that means you are ready now to customize your new WordPress theme!
There is a lot that goes into setting up and customizing your WordPress theme so instead of a super long blog post about it, I have linked a video tutorial for you all so it may be easier to figure out! Once you get the hang of it, it is quite easy to do!
First, let me share a few things about my blog & tutorial so you have the context.
My WordPress blog is hosted by Bluehost, which I highly recommend! (Note: Bluehost link is an affiliate link and if you use it I will receive a commission at no extra cost to you. If you intend on building your blog up to become monetized one day then you need a self hosted WordPress site & BlueHost is who I would personally recommend to anyone. They are super affordable & have great customer service!
I truly believe that making your site appealing to the eye while being very user friendly, makes for more viewers to return plus new ones. I think investing in a WordPress theme is very smart once you are at that point (or even from the jump if you are serious about your blog site), you can find some great themes as low as $10!
On my blog, I first started using a theme that is already part of WordPress, Ashe, but soon after invested in a new theme. I purchased a lovely theme from StudioMommyDesign on Etsy (which is what you all will see me displaying in the tutorial below). She has great themes for affordable prices & with your downloads she includes video tutorials and steps for setting up your new theme that are super easy to understand & very helpful! She also has great customer service if you have any questions!
There are plenty of websites & Etsy shops who offer great themes for your WordPress website you can purchase from that range from $10 to thousands, but since I am currently using StudioMommyDesign, I can recommend that knowing how great it is, but always do your research to find what is best for you!
